Letter A Introduction

The “Intro” to “Adam named the animals” gives a brief overview of the Story, Song, Craft, and Handwriting found in the unit for the letter “Aa”.

Let's Tell The Story!

The first of these components involves an adapted, narrated and illustrated “Story”. The last is an original “Song” in which the children are seen dramatically retelling the story. The other two components are instructional videos for manuscript “Handwriting”, and interactive “Craft” supporting the story.

The storyteller’s narration and Free Bible images’ illustrations combine to make the adapted story “Adam named the animals” come alive for kids.

This story about the first man, Adam, is part of the “Aa” unit in the 26 letter-related “A-Z Bible Stories for Me” curriculum.

The lyrics and original music created for the “Song” for “Adam named the animals” combine to draw attention to the retelling and revisiting of the adapted Bible story about the creation story and the first man, Adam.

Watch as the kids became engaged using costumes, props, and crafts in different settings such as on stage, outdoors, or in the classroom.

Get everyone to participate in retelling the story! Dress up with scarves, pillowcases, and sheets!

The “Craft” instructional video for “Aa” leads the viewer through the downloadable seek-and-find sheet for “Adam named the animals ”. Children are guided through finding and coloring the song’s “lion, the tiger, the big hippo”, “all the birds, the fish in the sea…”, and “the brown bear”.

In addition to the seek-and-find sheet, instructions are given for making the downloadable set of interactive face puppets to be used to dramatize the song supporting the story.

At the bottom of the craft is the scripture reference to the story.

The “Handwriting” video for “Aa” (notice the letters “A” and “a” found in “Adam named the animals”) provides step-by-step instructions with likeable personalities naming the various line segments used in manuscript writing: Verty (vertical), Slanty (diagonal), Zontals (horizontal), and Curvy (curved).

Both correct hand position and the distinction between upper and lower case letters are emphasized.

A downloadable resource worksheet includes the words to the story’s song and an illustration.
