Letter C Introduction

The “Intro” to “Caleb was courageous” gives a brief overview of the core components found in a unit for the letter “Cc”.

The first of these components involves an adapted, narrated and illustrated “Story”. The last is an original “Song” in which the children are seen dramatically retelling the story. The other two components are instructional videos for manuscript “Handwriting”, and interactive “Craft” supporting the story.

This story about the courage of Caleb and Joshua as they believed God’s promise to His people of a “land flowing with milk and honey” in spite of the giants they had seen is part of the “Cc” unit in the 26 letter-related “A-Z Bible Stories” curriculum.

The lyrics and original music created for the “Song” for “Caleb was courageous” combine to draw attention to the retelling and revisiting of the Bible story about the courage of Caleb and Joshua as they believed the God’s promise to His people of a “land flowing with milk and honey” in spite of the giants they had seen.

Watch as the kids became engaged using costumes, props, and crafts in different settings such as on stage, outdoors, or in the classroom.

Get everyone to participate in retelling the story! Dress up with scarves, pillowcases, and sheets!

It's Craft Time!

The “Craft” instructional video for “Cc” leads the viewer through coloring the downloadable sheets for “Caleb was courageous”. Children are guided through cutting and attaching the “rod and grapes” they brought from the Promised Land.

The “Handwriting” video for “Cc” (notice the letters “C” and “c” found in “Caleb was courageous”) provides step-by-step instructions with likeable personalities naming the various line segments used in manuscript writing: Verty (vertical), Slanty (diagonal), Zontals (horizontal), and Curvy (curved).

Both correct hand position and the distinction between upper and lower case letters are emphasized.
