Letter K Introduction

The “Intro” to “The King is kind” gives a brief overview of the core components found in a unit for the letter “Kk”.

The first of these components involves an adapted, narrated and illustrated “Story”. The last is an original “Song” in which the children are seen dramatically retelling the story. The other two components are instructional videos for manuscript “Handwriting”, and interactive “Craft” supporting the story.

The “Handwriting” video for “Kk” (notice the letters “K” and “k” found in “The King is kind”) provides step-by-step instructions with likeable personalities naming the various line segments used in manuscript writing: Verty (vertical), Slanty (diagonal), Zontals (horizontal), and Curvy (curved).

Both correct hand position and the distinction between upper and lower case letters are emphasized.
